Controller Backups

Controller backups are archives of the configuration of the SwiftStack Controller and can be used to restore it to a previous state (except for cluster health and usage statistics).

Even if no action is taken, data stored in your SwiftStack cluster is safe since storage API requests do not depend upon the Controller.

The period for local and Swift backups, as well as other settings can be configured below, on this page. SwiftStack strongly recommends you configure backups into a Swift cluster below.

It is best practice to create a unique user for backing up swift configuration to the cluster.
